Hello and welcome!!!!
This year I decided to reduce the amount of books I read but at the same time try to improve my reading. Last year I read a lot of romance and just plainly popular books that caught my fancy (not saying that this is bad), this year I want to try to incorporate different genres into my reading plan which is why I came up with a list of 52 books I want to read in 2020. I get the feeling that I won’t be reading all of them but I want to try to at least read the majority of them.
I was able to narrow down a few books in each category that I have decided to implement in my plan.
Before you continue, if you can check out www.theeuphoriczat.com which is my new website, that would help out s lot.
I am try to make new move this year.
Historical Fiction :- This is a genre that I have been trying to get into more since I read Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reed. So this year I am planning on finally reading the Book Thief by Markus Zusak, The Fountain of Silence by Ruta Sepetys, and The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. These are the two books I have for now, I will be adding more to that list as time goes on.
Murder and Mystery :- I just recently in the past 2 years started reading this genre and it all started with the Stalking Jack the Ripper series by Kerri Maniscalco and that series was just so mind blowing. So this year, with the same high hope that I find gems like this, I am hopefully going to read Truly Devious books by Maureen Johnson and The Diviners series by Libba Bray (so this one is also a historical fiction, so yeah ). These are the two book series I have for this category, hopefully, I will enjoy the first books which will propel me to read the rest of the books in the series.
Science Fiction :- This is one that I really tried to get into but just can’t enjoy. I have gotten a few recommendations that I think I might actually enjoy. I am hoping that I will finally read the Aurora Cycle by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff and Skyward by Brandon Sanderson.
I also plan on completing the series that I have started and this is just for series which I actually enjoyed the first book, for example, Scythe by Neal Schuterman (really want to read Thunderhead and Toll), Caraval by Stephanie Garber (Legendary and Finale) and Legacy of Orisha by Tomi Adeyemi (Children of Virtue and Vengeance).
.
I am trying not to bombard myself with too many goals which is what might make me not keep to my commitments. Let me know if you are also planning to read any of these books, maybe we can read them together, to encourage each other.
Thanks for reading.
Great post, which book are you most looking forward to reading in 2020?
